Pleomorphic adenoma at the base of the tongue is uncommon. We treated a 71-year-old woman complaining of dysphagia who demonstrated this condition. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging showed that the tumor protruded into the oropharynx, with limited extension into the muscle. The tumor was resected with a harmonic scalpel. Histologic examination disclosed a benign pleomorphic adenoma.
