We report a case of intramuscular hemangioma in the sternocleidomastoid muscle in a 12-year-old female. The tumor had slowly enlarged up to 35 mm length in the left sternocleidomastoid muscle. MRI was a useful tool for both diagnosis and therapeutic planning. The tumor with surrounding muscle tissue was surgically excised, without excess bleeding. After the surgery, neither deformity nor functional problems of the neck have appeared in follow up.
Key words : intramuscular hemangioma, sternocleidomastoid muscle, magnetic resonance image (MRI)
