A Guide To Hanging Scrolls.

Kyoto is one of Japan's most famous centers for mounted scrolls and has been producing excellent scrolls for many centuries. People call the scrolls "Kyo-Hyogu" which means specially mounted in Kyoto. Why do the "Kyo-Hyogu" have such a high reputation? One obvious factor is the climate in Kyoto. The water is good and strong winds, which are a harmful influence in the mounting process seldom blow. Kyoto is also famous for textiles such as "Nishijin", so it easy to obtain the variety of textiles used for mounting.

However most important is the fact that there are many temples in Kyoto and residenctial district where the culture of "Cha-no-yu"(Tea Ceremony) is deep-rooted in daily life. Hence clients have a strict eye and a good sense for a beautiful mounting. There are many craftsmen involved in the production of mountings and they compete to demonstrate their skill and aesthetic sense. They make full use of their opportunities to examine mounted scrolls handed down from history and feel honored to be given a chance to improve their skill.

[How to Maintain Scrolls.]

If you leave a calligraphy for a long time, it cold be apt to be spotted, dusty, eaten by warm or lost.

We recommend you'd better to mount a calligraphy  to a scroll and contained in a paulownia box or a wood frame.

It is important that you should check whether a calligraphy was painted by real Indian Ink or not  If it was painted by chemical ink, it is impossible to be mounted. Real Indian Ink wouldn't run on a paper, but chemical ink will spread.

Send us a calligraphy by EMS contained in a paper box.

When we receive a calligraphy, we will send you a receipt with a cost and term.

If you want to indicate the style, color of cloth, size,  please let us know in detail.

You don't have any particular request, please leave us the arrangement of color, a style and size. We will mount it by following the traditional rule.
