y-Intercept
The y-intercept is the y-coordinate of the point where the line crosses the y-axis.
To find the y-intercept, you have to find the value of y where x=0. The y-intercept is not concerned about whether the line slopes upwards or downwards. The y-intercept is a signed number. In Figure 1, the y-intercept of the blue line is equal to 3 and the y-intercept of the red line is equal to −2. |
