Main Gate of the Manpukuji-Temple
This is the Manpukuji Temple. This temple was estabilished about 330 years ago by Ingen who is a famous chinese Zen-Buddist. It's about 20minutes by train from Kyoto- station and 5minutes on foot from Obaku-station .
Through the large gate which named "Sanmon", We can enter the silent Zen's space.

There is a large fish made of wood in front of the dining room. A bonze beats the fish to tell the time of meal.

This building is a chinese style.

There are many bonze who practice zen. This notice board is written "Be quiet while zen-practice".

This is the memorial building of the founder Ingen.

In this building we can have a "hucya-ryori" which is a diet meal of chinese style.
