“KYOTO SHIMADZU WANDERVOGEL CLUB”

* INTRODUCTION:

We, KYOTO SHIMADZU WANDERVOGEL CLUB (KSW), are one of in-house Sports and Cultural Clubs in Shimadzu Corporation, Kyoto Japan, and are composed of active employees and retired persons in the Kyoto-based Shimadzu offices and its subsidiaries, with around 60 members as of March 31, 2006. Our regular outdoor meetings include many kinds of mountain activities, such as hill-walking and cleaning-up walks of trailing route nearby Kyoto suburbs; climbing, skiing, cycling throughout Japan and overseas mountaineering trips, etc.

Since founded in 1960, we are keeping at least bimonthly regular weekend meets every year. Our KSW have been once introduced in one of the Japanese leading alpine magazines, “Yama-Kei” in its special edition featuring “Kyoto Kitayama (Mountain ranges in northern suburb of Kyoto)”
