[Public and private transportation in Fushimiinari area] Because the railroads are concentrated at the east side of Kyoto city, that part of the city is more convenient than others. The southeastern area is particularly the most convenient, because of the presence of the Keihan-Line, the JR Nara Line, the subway and the Kintetsu Nara-Line. If you are at the JR Kyoto station, using the JR Nara Line is the best choice. The second station from Kyoto station is JR Inari station. When you get out of the ticket gate of Fushimiinari station, you will find the Torii-gate of Fushimiinari is just in front of you. If you are at the JR Kyoto station, using city bus is the other choice. The city bus with number South 5 or express 105 goes by Fushimiinari. When you get off the city bus at Fushimiinari_taisya_mae, you will arrive on foot in about 5 minutes at Fushimiinar shrine. Keihan Line is convenient from Shijyokawaramachi, which is in the downtown Kyoto area. If you are in the Osaka district, Keihan Line is also the best choice. The local, local express and express usually stop by Fushimiinari station. You will arrive on foot in about 5 minutes at the Torii_gate. Recently a small stall which sells the Inarizushi is open for business near the ticket gate. You can also go to Fushimiinari by the subway. By the subway, you get off at Jujo station, and you arrive on foot in about 25 minutes at Fushimiinari shrine. So if you are in Shijyokarasuma vicinity, to use the subway is one of the many convenient choices. Some travelers choose this route and walk with the guidance of smartphone application such as google map. But it takes about 25 minutes on foot. So this is not recommended if you happened to be carrying heavy baggage. [City bus] You get on the city bus number Minami (south) 5 or express 105 at the Kyoto station C4 depot and get off at Fushimiinari_taisya_mae. You can also go to Fushimiinari on the city bus number 81 at the same depot C4. If you get on the number 81, you should get off at Kanjinbashi depot. After walking for about 5 meters, turn left. After you walk on further for about 1 km, you will arrive at Fushimiinari shrine. You will find the classic English type red telephone booth. Some travelers take pictures of themselves in front of this booth. |
