October 1 or 'I no Ri'(a day of a wild boar) of mid-October of the lunar calendar (eary or mid-November of the solar calendar usualy) is a day of 'Kairo' of the Tea Ceremony, when open a big fireplace for winter.
Around 'Kairo', there is a day of 'Kuchi kiri', when start using new tea leaves of the year.
'Kuchi kiri' is the beginning of a new year of the Tea Ceremony.
About 30 years ago, on the day of 'Kuchi kiri'.
A famous master of the Tea Ceremony (anonymous) opened a pot of new tea leaves, when an earthquake occured. He slipped and hit his head hard on the pot twice,
'Gon, Gon!' (a sound of the hits!)
and died.
Since then, on the day of 'Kairo', in all the rooms for the Tea Ceremony in Japan, strange sounds came to be heard,
'Gon, Gon!'
But, this year, the sounds weren't heard.
It is said that 'Gon Goals' made the soul of the Tea master rest peacefuly.
'Gon Goals' are goals made by a football player called 'Gon' of Jubilo Iwata of Shizuoka prefecture.
'Gon' made a new great record of goals of J-League (Japanese Professional Football League) this year,
'Gon, Gon!'
Our Football Team Kyoto Purple Sanga (not so strong yet) also needs a player like him to win a championship... someday...
