SUBWAY of FEAR
(May 22, 1997)

'Where am I? What does that sign mean?'
Bungo Katsura (A fictitious name. 22 years old), a new face in a photo studio, cried in an empty subway late at night.
He found a strange sign on the column in a platform seen from an opened door when he awoke from a doze. The sign said the name of the station is
'KUPAMAGUCHI'
, which was unknown to him.

From OIKE station where Bungo had taken the train, there could be 5 other stations.
MARUTAMACHI, IMADEGAWA, KURAMAGUCHI, KITAOJI, and KITAYAMA (May, 1997). There couldn't be KUPAMAGUCHI! It couldn't exist on the route of the subway!!
A panic caught Bungo, and he wondered if he was in an another world or if the stressful human relationships in his office had drove him mad.
'I, I'm not drunk tonight...!'
In a fear, Bungo stood up from the seat to get off the train. But the door closed just before he got off, the train started for the next station......somewhere unknown......

Key Word

KUPAMAGUCHI

To tell the truth, some outrageous fellows painted on a sign of KURAMAGUCHI, and it came to be seen like KUPAMAGUCHI. There is also a sign which can be read KUPAMAGUCHIII.
I found them at the end of the last April, and they still remained on May 18.
Will the workers of the subway find them and correct someday?
Or the strange signs will increase?
Nobody knows!
