KYOTO's SPOT for Dating Couples
Mt. Daiymonji-yama
(October 23, 1997)

On a sunny afternoon of this autumn, I climbed Mt. Daiymonji-yama that is famous with Gozan-no-Okuribi on August 16.

.
Though it was fine day, the air was not clear.
The city of Kyoto was covered with something like haze.
Was it a smoke that flew from the forest fire of Indonesia?
(Of course not!)

Key Word

Cold Wind

Only few tourists know that we can climb Mt. Daiymonji-yama.
The uphill road to the mountain starts at the North of Ginkaku-ji Temple, only 3 minutes walk from the temple.
In 30 minutes walk or so, you will reach to the wonderful view point where fires are set on Gozan-no-Okuribi.

In cold seasons from now, beware that there blows a quite cold wind at the view point.
Being drenched in sweat, you will feel terrible of the cold wind.
