Mr. Kuruma's Destiny
(August 13, 1998)

Last week, the Kyoto City Office announced it gave up the plan to build a French-style bridge over Kamo-gawa river, because so many people are against the plan.

I think the decision is very good and reasonable.

I guess that Mr. Sakuji Kuruma (A fictitious name.39 years old. Shimogyo Ward.) is the most delighted person at the news, and the most depressed is maybe the Sphinx.

The Sphinx is standing sadlly around the place where the bridge was planned.

Well, but his sadness won't survive so long, as long as most of our tax is eaten by civil engeneering and construction business.
Someday somewhere someone will build a gigantec statue of a Sphinx as a symbol of the constructin by humanbeing.

Of course, it's not a dog.
