Background to Step 3: No single method, obviously, can solve all the problems of teaching/learning a foreign language because of inherent limitations and also because human beings differ greatly. So there is really no reason why conventional techniques should not be put to use to further facilitate the teaching/learning process or to receive feedback, especially since these techniques have been used successfully in the classroom from time immemorial. |
Perhaps a teacher's preference for a particular
method tells us more about how the teacher's mind functions than
anything else. The Illustrated Way is, of course, no exception.
The essential strength and relevance of this picture-word format,
however, remains valid (especially in this comics-loving nation!)

a words-only or words-and-pictures format.
